Designated Officer / Adult Safeguarding Coordinator Training HSE Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse National Policy & Procedures Overview The purpose of this training programme is to enable participants to understand the requirements and expectations of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse National Policy & Procedures. The programme specifically explores in detail the role of the Designated Officer and the requirements to undertake preliminary screenings. The programme provides guidance on the key practice considerations of effective safeguarding approaches. The primary focus of the programme is to explore practice approaches that effectively contribute to safeguarding vulnerable persons at risk of abuse. Participants will: - Explore the requirements and expectations of the National Policy and Procedures - Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse (2014) - Understand relevant legislation and related policies to support safeguarding practice - Explore safeguarding practice with a specific focus on undertaking preliminary screenings - Consider effective practice approaches in the assessment and management of safeguarding concerns - Consider effective practice approaches in safeguarding planning to address risk and safety considerations This programme will be delivered live online over two sessions.
